THE COLORIZED PICTURE

The Gounod space presents a part of BERNARD LECOINTE collection "A naive and popular Art".
The collection includes more than 300 items divided into framed pictures, romantic post-cards, cinema pictures...
The pictures exposed here came from the begining of last century until the fiveties.
The majority of them are exposed with the original frame or with a frame that is closed to the original one.
The colorized picture must not be cofused with colored picture. It is a black and white picture colorized by hand in a unique copy.
Sometimes it is colorized by famous artists and sometimes by honourable craftsmen.
The colrist were more often women that did it at home.
This art was practised since the begining of the photography under differents forms (from the end of 19th century until the sixties).
The emotion is always appropriate faced with the tokens of family tenderness.
